Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on May 1st. The Chapter House will now be integrated with the surrounding structure to form the new church for the abbey. Cistercian medieval buildings such as the Ovila Chapter House exemplifies the transition between Romanesque and Gothic architecture in the 12th-century. The portals and ribbed-vaults are typical of Gothic buildings while the small, lancent windows at the rear represent the Romanesque style. Medieval stone masons also left their unique mark with symbols on the interior walls.
