The Sacrament of the Eucharist
Central to the prayer life of a monk is the sacrament of the Eucharist that is celebrated every morning. The word Eucharist has its root in the Greek eukharistia, which means "thanksgiving," and "gratitude." In short, the monks and all those gathered around the table of the Lord come together as a community to give thanks for all that the Lord has done. In humility and in awareness of our personal limitations, we offer to the Lord our weaknesses and our strengths, our despairs and our hopes, our small faith and our deep love. Together we journey forward each day, supported by Christ who is our foundation.
From the Constititutions of the Order:
§18
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian life and of the brothers' communion in Christ. For this reason it is to be celebrated by the whole community every day. It is by sharing in the paschal mystery of the Lord that the brothers are united more closely with one another and with the whole Church.
Mass Schedule
Monday-Saturday: Immediately after Lauds (Lauds begins at 6 am)
Sundays: 10:30 am
