Fr. Anthony's Pottery
Father Anthony graduated from Drexel University in his hometown of Philadelphia in 1972 with a BS in Business and Engineering. He worked as a Sales Engineer and later as an Administrative Engineer in Milwaukee and San Francisco until he joined the Dominicans in 1963. There, as a student for the priesthood he began painting abstracts and then discovered clay. After ordination, he entered the Abbey of New Clairvaux where he was able to set up a clay studio. This turned into an online pottery business for some years, but then had to be discontinued because of other monastic duties. However, he is still able to make pots now and again and they are for sale in the Abbey Bookstore. Father Anthony feels very blessed to be able to engage in the joy of creative pottery. The pottery is all one of a kind, as he just lets the ball of clay become what it wants to be under his guidance.
