At New Clairvaux, we strive to be aware of how we manage our resources and cultivate our land. It is stated in our Constitutions for the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance that the brothers are "to be concerned about conservation of the environment and to manage natural resources prudently" (Statute 27A). One of the ways we practice is by having solar panels installed. Our winery facility especially benefits from the electricity generated by these solar panels. Furthermore, the large amounts of water used in wine production and cleanup is recycled.
On this blog you will periodically find articles, links to pertinent websites, reflections, homilies, and images that express our monastic Cistercian life.
