Our daughter-monastery on the island of Lantau, China, is named Our Lady of Joy Abbey. Lantau is one island among many within the proximity of Hong Kong. To get there, you'll have to do a bit of island hopping by ferry. Our brothers at Our Lady of Joy Abbey subsist on the sales of their cookies and Trappist milk (well-known for its quality throughout Hong Kong). Although they live on an island, they are not quite as remote as our sisters in Nicaragua. In fact, you can view the Disneyland fireworks display from nearby Discovery Bay.
On this blog you will periodically find articles, links to pertinent websites, reflections, homilies, and images that express our monastic Cistercian life.
