Wishing everyone a happy new lunar year! Our Vietnamese brothers happily treated the community to a feast for dinner today. The menu included fried rice noodles with shrimps, eggrolls, more shrimps, orange-colored sticky rice, rice cakes, and sesame balls stuffed with mung beans. Vietnamese tradition holds that it is the Year of the Cat while in the Chinese calendar, it is the Year of the Rabbit. Since the rabbits were too quick to be caught on camera, "Tiger", our monastery cat gladly posed for pictures.
On this blog you will periodically find articles, links to pertinent websites, reflections, homilies, and images that express our monastic Cistercian life.
