We had our Easter fire blazing at around 2 a.m. After the blessing of the fire and Paschal Candle, the monastic community led the procession into the church just in time before drops of rain started to fall. Once inside, our head cantor sang the Exultet, a hymn of praise before the Paschal Candle. Then, the monks and guests sat to listen to the readings of the age-old stories of our salvation history beginning from the Book of Genesis to the Prophets and finally, to the Resurrection story from the Gospel. Our Easter Sunday morning service was well attended with over 100 guests. After the Mass was completed, the monastic community gathered in our dining room to enjoy a nice rice and shrimp meal with New Clarivaux wines and Ovila beer. Happy Easter!
