After our Eucharistic liturgy for the celebration of the Epiphany, we assembled in our Chapter Room to receive postulant Jose-Luis into the Novitiate and clothed him with the white novice scapular, cincture and cloak. Our abbot reminded Luis that all of us were also once clothed in white during our baptism. It was then as it is now God who sought us as we lived our new life in Christ. Now as a Trappist-Cistercian novice, Brother Luis will continue to seek God's mercy as he strives to live among the brothers at New Clairvaux according to the Rule of Saint Benedict. He specifically requested that his family continue to pray for him during this time of Novitiate.
On this blog you will periodically find articles, links to pertinent websites, reflections, homilies, and images that express our monastic Cistercian life.
